Did I remember to put the chicken in the crock pot for lunch....
How am I going to get everything done today I need to get done...
Do we really have to sing this song again!!
I have to work 40 hours this week....
I wonder if that guy or girl is watching me sing... I better do my best..
I am guilty!! I am usually playing the piano but find my mind running in all different directions.
When I heard the story behind this song several years ago, it changed the entire meaning of the song for me; it came alive. When you look into the hymn book and see Fanny Crosby who wrote about seeing Jesus one day because she was blind on earth, and John Newton who pinned the words of Amazing Grace to a tune he heard on one of his slave ships, you can't help but see these songs in a different light. God does care about people and even in the darkest of times he can give you a song. Next time you sing take a moment to think about the words and the heart behind the words!
Should we really get rid of the old songs? I don't think so! Does it mean that we have to sing them so high that only the women can reach the notes and so slow that everyone is falling asleep? Of course not! :) Just don't toss out all the old while trying to bring in the new.
Love it! Also put some "bluegrass" in the mood. :)
