Laundry and Sunday

Wonderful men and women like Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Edison,  Alexander Graham Bell, and Ruth Wakefield ( she invented chocolate chip cookies if you didn’t know ) paved the way for convenience and comfort. Today, however, I am
determined that the greatest inventors are those who paved the way for the modern washing machine.

The weekend was moving along wonderfully until the last person to take a shower this morning used the last clean towel! Mom told us that we were going to have to wash some towels. This task in and of itself seems like a reasonable request, but you have to understand that our washer died on us just a few days ago. So we began the process of piling all the towels into the bath tub, filling it with water and soap, and scrubbing and ringing out each towel.

You guys who need a good workout should do a tub of towels a day. You will use a lot of muscles and your hands will lose that smooth look. I got so tired of scrubbing towels that I finally just stepped in the tub and began pounding the towels with my feet. Once the project was finally on the line, I made up a tall glass of tea ( sweet tea for all my concerned MO friends ) and sat down to write and relax.
