Are you a true friend?

Is your friend a friend or just an acquaintance?

Here are my ten qualifiers for a friend. Take the test to see if you are a true friend.

1.       A friend will be there when you need anything but they will also be there when you are on top of the world. Have you ever had the feeling that you had a fair- weathered friend or even a friend who just seems to show up any time there is a major crisis?

2.        A friend will be honest while considering your feelings.  Sometimes we need a good friend to wake us up to reality but some people are just natural busy bodies. A friend will learn to balance these.

3.       A friend will still be a friend even after a disagreement. Arguments have a way of bonding people, but only if those arguments are resolved. For example, happily married people are those who have problems, face those problems together, and become stronger together through the problem.

4.       A friend is not perfect and is willing to admit this.

5.       A friend will give you hope and encouragement even when everything else seems to be against you.

6.       A friend will not talk behind your back unless it is to build you up. So many people will spout off a bunch of fluff to your face but when you are not around…wow!  It can be such a surprise.

7.       A friend will drop you a help just to let you know that you are special.

8.       A friend will make time to be with you even if it means sacrificing something else.

9.       A friend will stick close by you when you have been hurt by someone.

10.   A friend will be a friend with no selfish expectations.
